Emmerdale Studio a Festive Experience

It’s mid-December which means we can officially get in the Christmas spirit around here. I was very kindly gifted 2 tickets to the Emmerdale Studios Experience to see what they were up to this festive season.

The Emmerdale Studio Tour

The Emmerdale studio tour lasts around 2 hours and is fully guided. Do arrive 10 to 15 minutes early to take your photos on the outside and check-in. Once you check-in, you meet the tour guide and start with the history of Emmerdale and learning how the soap is made.

What sets do you get to see?

On the tour, there are working sets and mock sets. Since the Emmerdale studio changed its location (just next door) these aren’t live sets anymore. If you desire you can get a photo of you sat on the sofa in the Dingles front room. This a fun addition, especially as the sets, are redressed for each season. The super fans in the tour group absolutely loved this.

After visiting the set mockups, you are taken over to the main studios where you get to see the live working sets. Our guide told us some of the secrets of TV sets (just look closely at the floors next time you’re watching Emmerdale). There is a lot more going on behind the scenes then you may know. I think this tour is not only good for the Emmerdale fan but also for the TV Buff, theatre fan and anyone that wonders how a TV show is made.

On a side note, I also found out that the Emmerdale Experience also offers British Sign Language (BSL) Tours? How amazing is that for accessibility, I do not think I have come across another tour that does this. For guests who are deaf or hard of hearing. However, these tours cannot be booked online so, to get more details or to make a booking, please contact them directly.
